FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions).

Low poly art is a style becoming increasingly popular. It is created by creatively styling simple shapes while still retaining the basic shape of what it is meant to represent. Low Poly art has evolved into a respected form of art to create original and unique art.
I can either create low poly art that is based on a photograph or create something from scratch based on your vision.
All low poly art created by me is created through 3D modeling and can hence allow for different perspectives.
  1. Start by sending an email to: percival@carbonink.ca, with your project description and idea.
  2. If you are looking for an art piece that depicts a photograph then please attach the photo(s) to the email as well.
  3. Once I receive all info and photos, I will be able to give you an estimate for your project.
  4. I will send you a PayPal invoice, which is due before I can begin work on your project.
No, some of the details on these models are too intricate for 3D printing.
Depending on the complexity, it can take from 1-4 weeks.
The price includes the digital illustration only, which will be sent through email. If you would like me to print the art on a poster - please let me know.
All my low poly art is created in 3D software. I first create all required 3D models for the scene individually, this can include the main subject matter as well as other elements and the background - then add lighting to the scene.
At this point I'm ready to start adding materials, colour and textures if necessary. There will be lots of back and forth - tweaking the models and the lightning to get the composition just right.
Now I'm ready to start rendering the image, this can take a couple of minutes to a few hours depending on the complexity of the scene and will often require multiple renders until I'm happy with the final render.
It will then be taken into a software like Photoshop for final touch ups and color correcting.
